Porque  LU SHAN?

Lu-shan is a mountain or more correctly a mountain range. It’s name is recorded in the book “History Records” in the He-qu volume which can be dated to the time when Buddha Dharma was filtering into the chinese Confusion and Tao culture.

It has perhaps justly been called the "The Palace Housing Immortals" because as early as A.D. 317 alchemists were active there and  Buddhism and Taoism, taking advantages of the impressive beauty of its mountain clusters and peaks studied and meditated there.

The United Nations World Heritage List gave the following praise; "with its peculiar style in historic remains, which is melted with remarkable natural beauty, Mt Lushan has formed a highly- aesthetically-valued cultural view closely relevant to the sprit of the Chinese people and their cultural life"

Peaks thrust through cloud only to be lost in mountain mist again, giving birth to the expression,   “Forgetting the Face of Lu Shan” as forgetting the unforgetable. It would be correct to even say that Chan, Tierra Pura and the Nirvana Tsungs (Zongs)  were born there. There can be no more noble a name for the University than this.
